"The 99th Floor" - Prima Scream

The Montparnasse tower : this this the tallest skyscraper in France with its 210 meters (59 floors), build from 1969 to 1972. On the top, a terrace offers a large view of Paris (perhaps a next post).

"The Trees" - Pulp

This tree is a real one and grows in a planter (click to enlarge), but I don't know how long will it takes before its owner will have to plant it out ?

"Factory" - The Vines

This ancient factory of "shoes & clog" is now a house. It's funny to see that the owner kept the sign on the front.

I saw this window in a little street of the 13th arrondissement with these decorations. My favorite is the one with the kangaroo ; everybody knows that there is a lot of kangaroos in the 13th, especially in the 13th ...

"Creature Form Outer Space" - Sonny Day

I've seen this sign above a shop and this one is very very special. It's a mix between "Alien" and the thing from the "Naked Lunch".

"Bartender Blues" - George Jones

For those of you who don't know, there is a Rugby World Cup in France. I like the sign of this australian bar, with this big crocodile.

"Old Rub Alcohol Blues" - Dock Boggs

This sign is above a perfume shop. It seems to be an old colonial sign (full of history) and the contrast between it and the perfume shop seemed interesting to me.

"Passing Cloud" - The Stooges

A business building in the 15th arrondissement.

"Swan's Splashdown" - Perrey & Kingsley

This sign is located in the corner of the Saint-Denis street & Cygne (= Swan) street in the 1st arrondissement. It's written : "Au Beau Cygne" (= Beautifull Swan's). I think it was the name of a shop wich doesn't exist nowadays. The mosaic is a little bit damaged but it doesn't seem to bother the pigeons who choose to nidificate behind.

"Big Bird" - The Jam

I've found this bird above a clothes shop, no relation between the bird and the shop. It might be there only for the decoration.

"Irish Pub Song" - Flogging Molly

Let me show you an Irish pub (yes, it's really an irish pub !!). I've never seen a pub like this one, with these colors, this architecture (enlarge to see the owl on the top (or it's a barn-owl ? I don't know). Unfortunatly, I don't have been in this pub so I can't tell you more about it. It reminds me the photo of MacDonald's I posted in April.

"Rainbow Store" - New York Dolls

I like the contrast between the colors of the shops and the buildings ; it's located on the banks of the Seine.

"You Set The Scene" - Love

No post the last two days : a little break in Normandy (if you want to see some un-touristic pics, go this way).
I've found this little theatre in a passage. It's the "Theatre du Tambour Royal" ("The Royal Drum Theater"). This theatre exist since 1850 and Maurice Chevalier did his first show in 1902 on this scene.

"So Weird" - Veruca Salt

This is front of a theatre called "Le Palais Des Glaces". I've been intrigued by the sculpture on the front and I must admit it took me a some minutes to understand what it was : a contortionist elephant !

"You Don't Knock" - The Detroit Cobras

A door-knocker on a door of a building in the 8th arrondissement. Im always fascinated by the precision of the details of this kind of objects.

"Knock On Wood" - Carla Thomas & Otis Redding

This sign was very high, under the roof (as you can see) of the fitting of a carpenter. I don't know if this sign is there since a long time or if it's a vintage one which have been installed only for the decoration.

"Green Fields" - The Good, The Bad & The Queen

This vegetable wall is on the front a parisian shop, the BHV. The name means "Bazar de l'Hotel de Ville" ("the Stores of the City Hall") because it's located in front of the City Hall. The one on the photo is a new, dedicated the the Mens. I've never been in this shop so don't ask me if it's interesting. The BHV is one of the three big store in Paris with the Galeries Lafayette and the Printemps ; they attract a lot of tourists during the year.
